It was a regular, nondescript visit to the police station. Minato thought it was about time he bought a new weapon; his sword was starting to rust.
For whatever reason, Kurosawa had a gun in stock. After taking a look at what else he had, Minato decided that he would try out the gun. While Mitsuru was concerned that he could mix it up with his Evoker, Junpei thought it was the-coolest-thing-ever-why-didn’t-I-think-of-this, and Yukari’s face seemed to say, “This is the stupidest idea ever.”
He brought it with him to Tartarus that night. Everyone looked at him a bit funny, but he was the leader, and no one really thought to question him. Five fights in, one floor up, and no one even looked at it anymore.
And then it happened.
Akihiko wasn’t doing so well, so he switched to Titania to heal him. He brought his evoker up to his head and pulled the trigger.
But the sound wasn’t quite right in his ears; familiar, but not like the glass-breaking sound he was used to. In fact, he could smell gunpowder.
His grip loosened, and a rather unpleasant darkness was settling over his vision. He thought he heard someone shout out, “Wrong gun!” in the background.
Game over.
